Grace: Grace's story is heartbreaking. She was picked up by animal control in the middle of winter. Wrapped very tightly around her hind leg was a wire. The tissue below the wire was dead and Grace was trying to chew her leg off. She was so badly infected and in such pain that the vets immediately performed surgery to amputate her leg and tend to the infection. Based on her injuries, our best guess is that Grace was used in dog fighting. Considering her horrific past, it would be easy to assume that she would not be adoptable. Happily, she proved everyone wrong. Grace is a sweet, gentle soul who loves nothing more than snuggling up against us under a warm blanket. She is silly, funny, and joyful. Grace will never know pain again.
Poppy: Meet Poppy. He's a senior pup who was surrendered to a shelter as a stray. His condition was deplorable as he was dirty, matted and underweight. Thankfully, a rescue pulled him and provided extensive medical care. Now Poppy, rickety and blind, is ready to live out his days at Silver Paws Haven and Hospice. He is such a sweet and lovable little boy. Poppy's days will be filled with love and pancakes!
